I’m Ayesha Banerjee, a storyteller, poet, filmmaker, and podcaster passionate about exploring the many facets of creativity and reinvention. My journey has been one of constant evolution—learning, unlearning, and discovering new ways to express myself.
I started life as many children of the armed forces do—moving from base to base, city to city. This transient lifestyle gave me a unique perspective on life, adaptability, and an appreciation for stories everywhere. After my father retired from the Air Force, we settled in Bangalore, where I finished my schooling at Army School. Instead of diving straight into higher education, I chose to pause and reflect, giving room to my creative instincts. During this time, I penned my first book of poetry, Voices on Paper.
Marriage introduced me to a world of travel, experiences, and exploration as my husband, Arunabh, pursued his dream of flying airplanes. Our journeys took us across continents, and while he flew in the skies, I found my grounding in words. Along the way, I earned a degree in English, Education, and Philosophy, and developed a love for tarot reading—a practice that continues to fascinate and guide me.
Settling in Dubai became the start of yet another chapter. While raising three wonderful children, I diversified my writing portfolio, dabbling in advertising, medical research, blogging, and poetry.
About six years ago, I stumbled upon a screenplay—a format that felt like magic on paper. It awakened something within me, leading to courses at the prestigious Whistling Woods International and SAE Dubai. Soon, I was writing screenplays and eventually brought two short films to life. Each project brought its share of challenges, triumphs, and immense satisfaction, helping me grow not just as a creator but as a person.
Poetry has always been my first love. Writing poems has been a way to heal, reflect, and express myself. My book Voices on Paper features over 100 poems, and I continue to explore this art form through digital platforms and performances.
Most recently, I’ve ventured into podcasting, a space where I explore the journeys of women who have reinvented themselves. Through candid conversations, I hope to inspire others to embrace change, defy societal norms, and chase their dreams, no matter their age or circumstances.
Through my poetry, storytelling, and filmmaking, I strive to connect with people on a deeper level—to evoke emotions, spark conversations, and inspire transformation. Whether it’s a poem that resonates, a short film that moves you, or a podcast that motivates, my goal is to leave a lasting impression.
